We together support Kaohsiung with arts
As COVID-19 cases surged, people stayed home and the streets of Kaohsiung were deserted. In order to prevent the pandemic, the arts and cultural venues under the administration of the Bureau of Cultural Affairs were all closed in June. We are sorry that people missed the opportunity to attend the art events.
However, we are always there. The company of arts will not be interrupted by the pandemic as restless people need art to relieve them. Therefore, we organized online art events for people at home, such as online concerts, plays, Taiwanese Operas, movies, exhibitions, lectures, and cloud libraries. In response to the impact of the pandemic on the performing arts industry, we also launched the "Open Call for Online Performance Hall" to encourage performing arts groups in Kaohsiung to produce creative short films related to their specialty for broadcast on online platforms such as YouTube and Podcast, so as to enhance digital capabilities and expand online audiences. We welcome arts and cultural groups in the city to show your works and be a part of pandemic prevention.
We believe in the power of arts, just like the live performance at a vaccination station. We have accompanied the elders with warm classical music and Taiwanese opera numbers, making the COVID-19 prevention in Kaohsiung a passionate and romantic artistic action. Despite the closure of art venues, the arts have not been absent from the fight against the COVID-19. Let's cheer all the frontline pandemic prevention workers up, bring courage and strength to all the people who are upset by the disease with art, and support Kaohsiung hand in hand!
