Along the bike lane of The Pier-2 Art Center, aside from colorful murals and various shops, is a concrete wall that contain more than twenty circular mirrors. This simple, unadorned mirror-filled wall is actually an artwork called the “Reflection of Sea” created by artist Wang Guo-yi that utilizes a wall in The Pier-2 Art Center. Wang arranged more than 20 stainless steel concave or convex mirrors to have them face the sea and reflect its different scenery. The images in the mirror change when viewed from different angles; with different light and shadows reflected over the course of the day, creating a scene much like the sunlight reflected on rippling waves.
