Fongshan District/Dadong Arts Center
The Dadong Arts Center is best known for its hot air balloon-like structure and X-shaped béton brut facade, which is a perfect fusion of lightness and stability. Unlike the traditional approach of connecting different spaces, the center’s Performance Hall, Exhibition Hall, Art Education Center, and Library are distinguished and designed according to the surrounding urban environments, attracting Kaohsiung residents to the semi-outdoor complex. The outdoor space was carefully designed and integrates seamlessly with the indoor corridors and while ensuring favorable ventilation and unobstructed views. A beautiful combination of natural weather and architecture is utilized here, with the hot air balloon design and concrete structure engendering a poetic flow.
