Located in Dayi Warehouse at The Pier-2 Art Center is a popular swing designed by architect Lin Chih-feng. A container that bridges two buildings smiles down at visitors, the swing brings a smile to those passing by to showcase how containers can be creatively and uniquely used to inspire the city of Kaohsiung.
Starting from 2001, the Kaohsiung International Container Arts Festival invites artists both domestic and abroad to use their imagination in giving old containers new life, urging the public rethink environmental protection-related issues such as sustainable resources, circular economy, and green buildings. The festival is filled with local characteristics and has become a Kaohsiung landmark. These fascinating container art creations are definitely worth your visit!
