Item Description:
This is the Chinese version of Avalokitesvara, a bodhisattva in Buddhism who aspires to prevent mortal suffering and one of the characters in "Journey to the West" and "Journey to the South" (The Legend of Hua Guang Saving His Mother.). Her hair is plaited in a coil, and she has a cinnabar red bindi on her forehead. She holds a jade vase and daintily steps on a lotus.
