Created by artist Liou Chen-chou, Rainbow Flowers is a public art that comprises 96 rainbow-colored flowers installed in the pool square in front of the Taiwan Ciaotou District Court.
This piece was inspired by the image of dark clouds drifting away and rainbows turning into raindrops before falling to the ground, forming colorful flowers. The artwork symbolizes peace and hope, imbuing the Taiwan Ciaotou District Court with a sense of joy and liveliness.
Due to the size of this pottery-base artwork, the difficulty and efforts involved with its creation were tremendous. Granule-like rough textures are retained on its surface with warm, elegant glaze colors added to evoke a sense of unadorned, restrained vitality.
