Peace, Sacredness, Kindness, located inside the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts park, was created by Rukai artist Eleng Luluan. She lent the artwork her name and combined various natural elements and mediums to transform the tradition and wisdom of indigenous people into art to initiate cultural discourse. The long, curved, eye-shaped design of this piece was inspired by lilies. The lily is the tribal flower of the Rukai, and symbolizes beauty and holiness spread across Kaohsiung, nourishing our land and all living beings as comfortably and securely as a fetus in a mother’s womb. The artwork was made from natural materials that combine distinct texture and original colors to evoke a sense of purity, as well as reminding us to respect and show gratitude to the Earth.
