Item Description:
Relief carving is used in making the puppet’s face so that its face is composed of lines. This is a middle-aged male character with a long beard and wears the court hat of grand chancellors called the grand chancellor’s marten hat. The puppet is resplendent in a green garb decorated in a boa constrictor design, a jade girdle across his waist, and black court boots. He usually appears in the role of grand chancellor, the highest-ranking official in imperial Chinese court.
