Located in Yanchengpu Station, Taiwan Cider-Salt Yard Recall was created by Mei Dean-E, a Taiwanese representative of avant-garde art who regularly uses surreal, conceptual, and ironic techniques to explore memory and history.
Taiwan Cider-Salt Yard Recall was inspired by Yancheng District’s prosperity five decades ago. The human figures introduced in the painting were based on old photos of from the area; the artist kept the subjects’ original apparel, changing only their faces against the background of old, local buildings. Computer graphics was used to integrate the styles of different eras, to create a simplistic presentation that demonstrates diversified, popular aesthetics.
鹽埕是高雄早期相當繁榮的區域，至今仍可以從存留的歷史建築與產業街窺探當時的風華。
捷運鹽埕埔站的《臺灣西打—鹽庭尋常榜》，創作者梅丁衍為國內具代表性的前衛藝術家，常以超現實、觀念性及諷刺性手法探討歷史與記憶。
這件作品以五十年前的繁華鹽埕作為創作發想，畫面中的人物來自鹽埕地區的老照片，除服飾保留原樣之外，臉龐則為虛擬。背景則為在地老建築，如高雄劇場、鹽埕町市場、高雄市役所(今歷史博物館)、高雄州廳、碼頭倉庫……等。作品以電腦繪圖技法將不同時代風格統合，並以類似舞臺效果表現豔俗的樸直感，融合多元化的常民美學。
