Lin Pey-chwen created Listening to Cloud Light II, an artwork located in Cingpu Station, to lend travelers the sense of promising changes in the future. The artwork features six glass clouds and a dispersive prism that creates a dreamlike rainbow track inside the station during sunset.
Lin is an expert in new media art. Public art emphasizes integrating artworks with their surrounding environments as well as resonating with each other. In making this piece, she avoids using her customary technological media, and instead observed and recorded Cingpu Station’s geographical characteristic and sunshine patterns to install a “physical device” that draws sunlight. Lin produced an artwork that creates scenery via sunlight, offering a space for students and workers to pause and enjoy her elegant aesthetics before going about their day.
Find this dream-like rainbow track next time you are at Cingpu Station!
