The Pier-2 Art Center

The warehouse units at the Pier-2 Art Center were formerly used to store fish meal and sugar for Kaohsiung Harbor. Originally functioning as the busy port’s main storage, Pier-2 has since turned into a creative hub for arts and design, enriching the lives and imaginative souls of Kaohsiung citizens. The former freight railway West Harbor Line was also a given new life and now serves as a light tramline that runs through the park.

Pier-2 Art Center has transformed beyond its original purpose, bringing Kaohsiung’s diversely creative culture to global attention and is now more than an art hub; it is also a popular social venue. Here you will find inspiring artworks, exhibitions, and performances that never cease to amaze.

LIVEWAREHOUSE

LIVE WAREHOUSE is the only warehouse venue in Taiwan that is located near a harbor. It features an integration of old storage space with live music that leads to a variety of performance styles. The venue features international and domestic music groups, and at the same time cultivating pop music talents to create a unique local soundscape.

VR FILM LAB

The establishment of the “VR FILM LAB” was inspired by Kaohsiung Film Archive’s funded project “Kaohsiung VR FILM LAB.” The project started from 2017 and brought a great success to the 2017 KFF. A screening venue devoted to VR subsequently opened at the Pier-2 Art Center to provide regular screenings and high-quality experiences.

Pier-2 Art Base comprises of nearly 70 independent offices of different sizes, acting as a base for start-up in the creative industries. We provide space for events and lectures, as well as rental services for business-level conference rooms and a personal work station daily rental service plan.

Kaohsiung Literary Museum

The Kaohsiung Literary Museum is a multi-functional, high-quality literary reading space that combines literary creation cultural leisure. In addition to library functions, the Museum gradually transformed into a venue for professional literary exhibitions. Organizing literary lectures, book releases and other related activities became a priority, as well as connecting with the surrounding community libraries to make literature more accessible to the people.
