The most fragrant and joyful music festival in Taiwan
Takao Rock, a music festival brand created by the Kaohsiung Music Center, was first held in November 2018. Due to the impact of the pandemic, the second festival was postponed to October 2022. Additionally, an event on the eve of the festival was added in the third festival held in 2023, which attracted more than 100,000 people over three days. As a result, an iconic music festival dedicated to the Port of Kaohsiung has been established.
Takao Rock has consistently been situated at the Kaohsiung Music Center in Love River Bay. It is situated at the wharf in the historic district of the traditional settlement. The area also features new buildings for the Kaohsiung Music Center and a rebuilt LIVE WAREHOUSE. The festival is held in a maritime setting and welcomes participants from around the globe. The festival upholds the concept of music without borders, inviting domestic and foreign singer-songwriters and bands to perform on the stage. There are no limits on the variety of music types, from folk to hip-hop, indigenous music to Hakka, punk, heavy metal, post-rock, and pop. All fans will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of music aspects.
The fourth annual Takao Rock event was held in conjunction with the Taiwan Technology X Culture Expo (TTXC) from October 11 to 13. The event included a continuation of last year's event on the eve of the festival and featured music performances. In addition to the original five theme stages (Sea Breeze, Sea Sound, Coral, Big Warehouse, and Small Warehouse), the Sea Urchin stage will be added to the Wave Tower hall, and three more stages will be set up in the stores. This brings the total number of stages to nine. Up to 63 groups of domestic and foreign artists, bands, and DJs will participate in the performances, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles at this year's event. Two-thirds of the stages are indoors, offering fans a more comfortable viewing experience and positioning Takao Rock as "the most fragrant music festival in Taiwan" and the ideal destination for music enthusiasts new to the festival.
