From the eve to the fifth day of Chinese New Year, there will be daily activities throughout Kaohsiung to ensure you have a happy New Year.
The Pier-2 Night Bazaar is always a popular destination for visitors, and this year is no exception. With nearly 380 handmade brands and food stalls, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We’ve also set up two stages where Minelectro INC will put on a fantastic DJ show every day. There will also be talented bands and street performers. In addition, KMFA’s outdoor lawn will host a New Year’s Festival Market to add to the festive atmosphere. You’ll find a variety of stalls showcasing handicrafts, original designs and unique cuisines, inviting you to experience the city’s beautiful lifestyle. The revitalized historic building Siaoyao Villa has cultural and creative market activities, launching DIY printing of Spring Festival coupons, dance performances, Japanese picture books, magic performances, so that you will not be bored during the Spring Festival.
During the Chinese New Year, parents and children enjoy many handmade activities. The Kaohsiung Museum of History has launched the “Year of the Dragon Figure Lamp” activity, where participants can create their own beautiful figure lamp. The Cultural Park of Taiwan Military Veteran Village is launching has launched the “Year of Dragon Figure Lamp” activity, where participants can make their own beautiful figure lamp. The Cultural Park of Taiwan Military Veteran Village launches “Spring Festival Pair Ornaments”. Participants can use light clay to make their own lucky Dragon Year ornaments. The Taiwan Pineapple Museum also offers a “Gold Brick Hand Making Course” where you can make your own canning pen holder and discover the versatility of brick clay. The library is planning parent-child workshops on dragons. These workshops will introduce different images of dragons from different angles and provide an opportunity to read and enjoy the year together. Neiwei Arts Center has launched a “Family Painting to Celebrate the Lantern Festival” event, inviting families to paint colorful lanterns together to welcome the arrival of the New Year.
Movie lovers should not miss the Spring Festival Movies presented by Kaohsiung Film Archive and Neiwei Arts Center. Enjoy a great year on the big screen with big stars by your side. Music fans should not miss the “Jazz Spring Show” at the Kaohsiung Music Center. The event features eight exotic jazz performances and a special Valentine’s Day dinner for two.
