In 2022, the first year after the opening of the Kaohsiung Music Center, many diverse and wonderful performances were presented. Even the Taiwan Lantern Festival, Creative Expo Taiwan and Taiwan Design Expo were all held at the proud Kaohsiung Music Center. In the first half of 2023, many domestic and international superstars such as Backstreet Boys, Westlife, BLACKPINK, Mayday and Amei will be performing in Kaohsiung. The Megaport Festival, the largest music festival in Taiwan, is held every spring at Kaohsiung Harbor.
As a professional venue for pop music, the Kaohsiung Music Center also continues to work in the fields of music performance, concert production, music talent cultivation, entertainment industry development and other aspects, with Kaohsiung as the base to make unremitting efforts to promote the development of pop music in Taiwan.
Last July, the Kaohsiung Music Center successfully staged a "True Love Show - Sapphire Grand Show," which brought the miracle of Taiwan's entertainment industry in the 1980s and 1990s to the Hi-Ing Hall. Singers who have made their mark on the show have been invited to perform together. The performance includes classic songs, the must-have feathered dress, a big live band and a large dance troupe that kicks off the main show. The audience is transported back in time to Section 2 of Bade Road in the 1980s and relives those wonderful days.
In May 2023, the train to the Sapphire Hall will depart again. Veteran singers such as Yu Tian, Li Yaping, Bai Bingbing, Kang Hong, Huang Sitian, Cai Qiufeng, Luo Shifeng, Lin Shurong, Ye Ailing, Peng Peng, Jhang Siuqing, Huang Fei and Siqing will also perform. On this Mother's Day, we welcome you to relive the days of grandma, dad, mum, aunt and uncle and enter the Sapphire Hall, which represents the glory of Kaohsiung and the miracle of Taiwan's entertainment industry!
