2020 Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival
Transdisciplinary Approach:
A new Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival
"Transdisciplinary" and "Extension" are the two curatorial approaches of the 2020 Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival! In addition to our popular outdoor concerts, master concerts, international programs, experimental theater, and other signature programs, this year we are collaborating with three external venues in Kaohsiung. The festivities will extend to the National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, and Kaohsiung Film Archive, to show new concepts and achievements from Kaohsiung artists.
This Spring Arts Festival is based on the performing arts, showcasing a combination of exhibition, visual, video and new media. Our venues are not limited to performing halls and theaters, but also include cinemas and exhibition halls, stations, public art installations, and military villages that are accessible to all. The “Tony Oursler: Black Box" exhibition at Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, "La Comedie - Francaise in Cinema" at Kaohsiung Film Archive, and the environmental dance series of "Site-specific Dance" are new approaches to traditional performances that allow artists to become an animated piece of public art, dancing and interacting with the urban landscape.
From early March to May, 6 series and nearly 30 programs are featured in the Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival! KSAF is an art festival for everyone. We sincerely welcome your participation in the 2020 Kaohsiung Spring Arts Festival!
