On a C10 Warehouse wall at The Pier-2 Art Center are three dogs walking. The surreal images of these dogs are amplified by a dog missing its head, a dog with an extra leg, and a dog missing a tail, reminding people of the Internet sensation “Poor Photos of Dogs and Cats Competitions”.
Some of us have phone albums with downloaded weird photos like the image described above, or experienced lives with similar moments. This artwork was inspired by a failed panoramic photo. Its creator, Lin Sih-ying, rendered 3D image that feature dogs she noticed during her stay as an artist in The Pier-2 Art Center’s artist-in-residence program, to preserve The Pier-2 Art Center’s daily scenes.
