The Former Sanhe Bank is not only the second oldest bank building in Taiwan, but also bears early witness to Hamasen’s growth into Kaohsiung’s financial center. The existing Sanhe Bank building is a 1927 remodel with reinforced concrete beam-column structural designs that present a transitional style. Its overall composition is relatively simple. A cloister sits at the first-floor entrance and Tuscan Order corridors on the second floor. Apart from the foundation blocks and second floor trim, the exterior walls are covered with khaki face bricks and stucco washing finish. The parapet and brackets are decorated with whimsical details. Renovations completed in 2019.
