The Kaohsiung Children’s Museum of Art is surrounded by chameleons and creative, whimsical animals designed by Hsu Tzu-kuei. Hsu uses colorful and lively chameleons as a central theme and imbues them with innocent, childlike qualities. He focused on color and design in the creation of these children’s “toys” to attract their attention and offer a rich sensory experience.
The piece was built first in iron structure before being covered in cement and colorful mosaic tiles. The vivid chameleons climbing on the Kaohsiung Children’s Museum of Art invite children and adults into a romantic, magical fantasy world.
