Happy Go Lucky in Shih Jia, located in Shihjia Station, is a steel painting that features lion dance. The steel painting depicts a bright and colorful lion head with its body in the shape of an MRT train bearing passengers. This artwork evokes a sense of joy in Kaohsiung citizens and is filled with the lively atmosphere of shih jia lion dance.
The artwork has a name identical to its located station as well as the area’s local characteristics, introducing travelers to the rich shih jia cultural experience as soon as they enter the station.
「獅甲」地名由來,是因當地的獅隊競技屢屢獲勝,可為當時南台灣最強的獅隊,因此有「獅甲」之美名。在北高雄的左營萬年季,以及南高雄的戲獅甲文化節,為高雄重要的戲獅競技,此兩大地方民俗文化重頭戲更有「北萬年、南獅甲」的響亮稱號。
藝術家在捷運獅甲站內,以舞獅為主題,使用鋼板烤漆創作的《快樂遊獅甲》,舞獅頭色彩鮮豔,舞獅身體則為捷運車體載著大家趴趴走,也帶著高雄人的喜悅,呈現出獅甲文化特有的熱鬧氛圍。
本作品與其站名、區域特色相互呼應,旅客一出站即能體驗到濃厚的獅甲文化特色。
