Item Description:
Tang Sanzang is one of the main characters in Journey to the West. He wears the hat and red robes of Chinese Buddhist monks, and rides a White Dragon Horse. Relief carving methods are used in making his face, a carving technique etching the puppet’s facial lines from one surface while leaving the rest blank, so the face of the puppet is composed of lines.
